had a blood test done this morning. it was a large order from my doctor. on the 7th tube drawn i felt light headed and very weak like i was going to pass out. i was not fasting and not anxious. what can cause this feeling ?

: Almost certainly a vasovagal reaction secondary to the blood drawing procedure.  Should have no lasting consequences.

when i ejaculate, there are transparent jelly like tubes (3-4) of varying lengths (>1cm - 2cm). they become hard and dry out after an hour or so.

Tubes?: As described, I have no idea what this is. Could be some infection, etc. so best to see the Dr. )Urologist) and possibly even get the ejaculate examined microscopically in the lab. Best wishes.

i was told to keep my bandage over my chest tube hole clean and dry for 3 days. what should i do after those 3 days? change the dressing or remove it?

Mgt: I would suggest assessment of the wound. If there is no drainage, swelling or excessive redness., it can be covered loosely with a bandage. If not, you should see your PCP.

i have a tube of vaseline that i use to keep my cold cores moist after they dry to heal. is it possible for the virus to lie on it for over two months?

Accepted Answer

Probably not: Applying more virus particles to yourself shouldn't matter since you're already infected.  But sensible precautions would be to squeeze a dab of petroleum jelly onto a tissue or the palm of your hand before applying it to an infected area.

will taking two zyrtec help dry up fluid in the eustachian tube faster? or would it just make it worse?

Neither: fluid in the middle ear can be due to several reasons, infection is one of them, whether viral or bacterial, Eustachian tube dysfunction is another, so relieving the congestion by whatever means is the mainstay in therapy, antihistamines do little in relieving congestion. Saline nasal washes, salt water gargles, steroid nasal sprays, antibiotics, if needed, may help,your doctor would judge better

how can  i make my mouth less dry if i'm npo getting nutrition from a nj tube?

Swab the mouth: You can suck on ice chips, or someone can swab your mouth with a small wet sponge so your not parched. I dont think sucking on ice chips would be prohibited unless your stomach is completely not working. In which case, the water may accumulate and come up.

No risk, no worry: It is very unlikely the clinic reuses butterfly needles to draw blood. HIV probably can survive many hours in blood inside a needle. But because needles are not reused, this doesn't matter. As you probably know, medical care in Pakistan often is very sophisticated. But even in developing countries, HIV is rarely if ever caught by having blood drawn or by other needles or injections. No worries!

The fear you: mention sounds like it is related to an anxiety disorder.  If your doc has cleared you for medical problem please see a mental health professional for treatment.  Do not rely on medication alone but learn techniques to cope such as clinical hypnosis, relaxation training, etc.  Peace and good health.

had sinus surgery. noticed tubes in my nose keep getting blocked with dried blood. not suppose to use too much saline. how can i safely clean them?

Still use saline: As it is the best to clean off blood clots/dried blood, don't overuse it as you were instructed, till you get hold of the surgeon or one of the team who operated on you to ask, good luck
