Yes : Yoghurt has some lactose that has not fermented and lead to symptoms in people who have severe lactose intolerance.

You can do it @home: Just eat a small amount and see if you get symptoms..If you do try lactaid products.

Most likely: If you are lactose intolerant, you will most likely develop symptoms after eating yogurt that contains lactose.

None of them: Yogurt does not have lactose in it (or at least not a considerable amount). This is because it is made with bacteria cultures, which feed on the lactose to make acids which turn milk into yogurt. Yogurt does not cure lactose intolerance (there is no cure). However, lactose intolerant people can eat yogurt with no problems.

Not needed: The nordic people mastered animal husbandry and keep their lactase for the entire life. For the rest of the people , lactase is deleted at various ages since it is not an essential enzyme.  In fact , human is likely the only mammal still drinking milk after infancy.

Accepted Answer

Yes.: Any cheese you buy should be devoid of carbohydrate, but your lucky: swiss, chedder, colby, provolone, parmesgan, romano, etc. Avoid american processed chees. (read the lable-carbs which are  lactose).  Frozen ices and most yogurts contain lactose.  Greek and middle eastern style yogurts may contain little to none.  But check the carbs-lactose, unless sweetened with corn syrup & dextrose.

IF related to dairy:: It depends on why a person does not tolerate dairy products. People generally tolerate the fat in dairy products, unless they have a gall bladder problem or other fat malabsorption issue. Yogurt has much less fat than cheese. Most common dairy intolerance is of the sugar lactose. The amount of lactose in yogurt varies a lot depending on how well the living cultures (microbes) digested the lactose.

Varies: The time for symptoms to develop varies, but usually not immediate...More often these symptoms occur hours after ingestion.

See Below: In General Greek yogurt has less lactose than regular but I am not aware of any website that compares them.  You can buy liquid lactase on Amazon and stir it into yogurt and 24 hours later most if not all of the lactose will be gone.

my 6 month old had projectile vomiting  today. i recently introduced baby yogurt - 2 days ago and again last night. could this be a bug or intolerance?

Challenge test: More than likely a bug. But you can stop the yogurt for a week and then  try feeding her the yogurt again. If she vomits again you can conclude that she has an intolerance.
