Yes: Degenerative disc disease (ddd) and arthritis are very similar, and often are considered the same. Arthritis, however, is a broader term that can include arthritis to any joint in the body and can include different causes, such as autoimmune, infectious, overuse, traumatic, aging, etc. Ddd is specific to the spine and refers to arthritis that is usually age or overuse related.

Arthritis, usually refers to degenerative joint disease or DJD which means a wearing down of the cartilage on the end of the bones that form a joint.  Ddd can lead to arthritis or DJD of the facet joints of the spine.

It is normal for age: It is unfortunate that they use the word disease to describe the mild changes of your lumbar and thoracic spine.  I never see a MRI report that is interpreted completely as normal.  This result would have to be considered in the context of your symptoms.  We dont treat mri's, we treat symptoms. The : The reason thrush occurs when there is a health crisis is due to the fact that the immune system is working hard to fight off whatever infection is going on; in addition antibiotics kill a lot of the good bacteria, which gives the yeast an optimal environment to flourish in.

Neck pain: Your neck pain may be caused by spurs or a bulging disc pressing on a nerve root if the discomfort radiates toward the shoulder.  Another possibility is occipital nerve neuralgia. A soft cervical collar, alternating cold and semihot applications, and taking of anti-inflammatory medication like ibuprofen should help. A neurologist is best to investigate and recommend appropriate treatment options.

Fibromyalgia/gluten: U are most likely an individual who has fibromyalgia in association with gluten intolerance.  I would suggest that you go on a gluten-free diet and get tested for gluten allergies.  Control of fibromyalgia is difficult but can be attained utilizing certain neuropathic pain medications and regular exercise. RE    Case S (2005). i have had severe lower back and hip pain for years and it's steadily getting worse. i have degenerative disc disease, arthritis, and bone spurs. i limp, have trouble walking and standing upright, and can't stand more than a few minutes. help?

: Appears you have widespread wear and tear, assuming not prior confirmation of inflammatory arthritis.  Medication merely will slightly help discomfort but will not provide longterm benefits.  Physical therapy in a pool, or using Red Cord equipment, with eventual McKenzie exercises does work, but must be gradual.  A sacroiliac belt often is useful
