Go back to dentist: This may be thrush secondary to the antibiotics you were given. Without seeing this impossible to diagnose, but the dentist who extracted your wisdom tooth will know and be able to advise.  Good luck and best wishes.

Yellow Tongue: Yellow tongue is caused by enlargement of papillae and allows bacteria to hide in the recesses of the bumps
saliva may change colour and the tongue looks yellowish and can give some pain, itchy sensation of mouth feel like cotton mouth, there can be yeast infection as well, and can spread to esophagus
the condition is benign can be treated with medicated mouth wash, andanti fungal meds, and proper diet.

Causes of tongue that looks patchy include: lichen planus (responds to steroids), white sponge nevus (familial, benign, permanent), smoker's leukoplakia (2% risk of cancer, needs biopsy), hairy leukoplakia (due to epsteinbarr virus), warts (due to papillomavirus), "thrush" (rx antifungals).

No.: Leukoplakia literally translates as "white plaque", so yellow tongue does not fit the definition. More commonly, yellowing of the tongue is due to either staining from food dyes or other colorants, or accumulation of debris from elongation of the many tiny bumps on the dorsum of the tongue (the filiform papillae). Management involves avoidance of food dyes and brushing or scraping of the tongue.

Probably not: Allergies to antibiotics can be life threatening.  One symptom of allergy is itching.  Severe allergy could produce itching and swelling of your airway so that you cannot breathe.  Call your  dr immediately or an advice nurse.  Consider stopping the antibiotic immediately.
