Itchy tongue after taking antibiotic. is this normal?

Probably not: Allergies to antibiotics can be life threatening. One symptom of allergy is itching. Severe allergy could produce itching and swelling of your airway so that you cannot breathe. Call your dr immediately or an advice nurse. Consider stopping the antibiotic immediately.

Not normal: Any unusual itching after taking an antibiotic is a possible sign of an allergic reaction. You should contact the doctor who prescribed you the antibiotic and discuss it with him. He may wish to change your prescription.

Possibly Candida: It is not uncommon to develop an oral yeast infection after a bout of antibiotics. To be sure that is what is(& not something else) and for treatment you should see the doctor who gave you the antibiotics, an oral surgeon, or dds to evaluate properly if it does not resolve shortly.
