Yes: a white coating on your tongue that can't be scraped off and particularly doesn't respond to antifungals may have several other etiologies, but one of the other really common possibilities is gastroesophageal reflux, which can be significant even if you don't have heartburn.  I would get that checked out, and if not the case, see a dermatologist

Maybe thrush(fungus): The tongue is known to have many variations with pigmenting, size, appearance, ; not always due to disease. Causes of tongue that looks patchy include: lichen planus (responds to steroids), white sponge nevus (familial, benign, permanent), smoker's leukoplakia (2% risk of cancer, needs biopsy), hairy leukoplakia (due to epsteinbarr virus), warts (due to papillomavirus), "thrush" (rx antifungals).

Unclear diagnosis: At your age, and if healthy, there is no reason for you to have thrush in the mouth unless your immune system is not working well or you use meds that can cause that, or you use steroids like for asthma. Have it evaluated first to make sure of the diagnosis, and if so why?

Likely: Yes Symbiocort has a steroid in it and can cause thrush.  Are you rinsing your mouth out and spitting the water out after each use?  Have you ever been treated for it? If it is really bothering you would discuss with your doctor about a possible medication adjustment.

Antifungal rinse: Thrush on the tongue, besides altering your breath, can alter the taste of food.  The main reason is that the tongue has taste buds and these can be altered with thrush.

You should see your dentist to prescribe and anti-fungal mouth rinse that you can swish and gargle with.  That should quiet down the thrush and you should regain normal tasting.

Thrush: Thrush cannot be diagnosed over the internet and purely by its color. It requires a trained health care professional to personally observe. Having said that it normally has a creamy white cottage cheese like appearance. See your dentist for a definitive diagnosis.

No: It can extend over all mucous membranes in the oral cavity and down the esophagus.  I have seen patients with strings of white exudate extending from their uvula to the tongue and their entire throat coated white.  If you are a normal adult u should not be getting thrush and should have your immune system examined and u should get tested for hiv.

Yes: Yes you can and encouraged to do so. After you brush the thrush away, you tongue may look rather red.That is normal.  After the thrush infection is gone, throw away your toothbrush and get a new one.
