Poor sleep: Due to insomnia. Also consider sleep apnea.... In some individuals their medications can cause fatigue though looking through yours it does not jump at me....

Your your PCP: I am not sure about yawning but you definitely need to see your doctor for evaluation of shortness of breath.

whenever i took 100mg modafinil for wakefulness, it resulted in frequent yawning that wouldn't stop until drug effect subsides. is this a side-effect or the drug is not working for me effectively because i felt it seem to not working for me ?

: It is a reported side effect, said to be most common in older white men for some reason. Interesting that you would have that. It does sound like the medication made you yawn but did not give you the effect you wanted.

Find psychotherapy: A psychotherapist can help you navigate through the stresses of medical conditions and can teach you breathing techniques to lower gad and release co2 properly to get enough o2 so yawning will be less necessary. That pattern should be helpful. It is - inhale fully through nose hold for some seconds then exhale slowly and totally through pursed lips (like blowing out a candle) do several to relax.

Ssri side effects: Paroxetine is a ssri and has more side effects than some of the others, particularly sedation and anticholinergic side effects (constipation, dry mouth, and possibly cold extremities)  the Clonazepam also makes you tired and often can be tapered off after a month on the ssri.

Check your heart: You might want to consider a stress test and echocardiogram. You have already had a sleep study? If not, you need a formal one.

: There is nothing wrong without yawning. Too much yawning can be a health problem but you should not worry if you do not yawn  unless you think you can't yawn successfully because you can't take a deep breath due to chest pain or your jaw hurts when doing it.

Evaluation: Yawning is both a physical and psychological event. Some people with anxiety have difficulty yawning. Also, people with lung disorders like asthma or COPD can have difficulty yawning. I would recommend you see your doctor and have some testing done to see if they can pinpoint a physical cause of the problem. Otherwise, psychological therapy may help.

Not to worry!: Interestingly, we still don't really know why we yawn.  The obvious reason is because we're tired.  There is also a theory that it helps to cool the brain when we over use it!  holding in a yawn isn't dangerous.  Holding in a sneeze is hard on the system because that increases the pressure in the chest.
