Before assuming : that your recent-onset symptoms are caused by psychotropic medications from which you've had a long-term beneficial effect, see your primary care provider. Take in a list of specific symptoms with onset, duration, frequency, &amp; circumstances, as well as all prescribed &amp; OTC medications,  vitamins, &amp; herbs. Have physical &amp; neurological exams before a neuropsychological evaluation.

MDMA : Mdma is a very potent stimulant, and affects the central nervous system by causing massive amounts of serotonin to be released. The (mostly) permanent side effects on the brain, affect those areas where serotonin is important in the brain, including the anterior lobes, and hypothalamus, areas closely connected to personality, and the experience of anxiety.
Xanax belomgs to the class of benzodiazepines, which are commonly used to relieve anxiety, but are well known to have long term mood altering side effects (major depression). Vicodin is an analgesic, and has effects on dopamin release in the brain and peripheral nervous system.

Brain physiology and chemistry is very sensitive, and largely unknown. In my opinion the use of mdmd is hazardous at best, and the long term side effects on the brain are not beneficial. Combining mdma with any other mood altering drugs is even more hazardous, and may result in fatal consequences.

Depends on what you: Are taking it for.  If you have occasional anxiety (like fear of flying) it will calm you down and make it easier to overcome your fears.  Taken regularly for generalized anxiety disorder it can improve symptoms as well, but it is short-acting, and only lasts a few hours. There are other ways to treat anxiety including antidepressant meds and psychotherapy. It can produce physical dependency/abuse.

Yes and no: Xanax (alprazolam) is a very short acting benzodiazepine and Klonopin is longer acting. Xanax (alprazolam) is much more addictive if used long term, but may act quicker. Neither is good long term as you develop tolerance meaning the same dose is no longer effective. It is better to fo find an antidepressant or a wide variety of other anti anxiety medications.

Possible Taper: I'm guessing that you take xanax (alprazolam)  for anxiety. If you are only taking it once a day, withdrawal is unlikely given it's effects are a short couple hours. If you are taking it more than 2 x's a day then you may be having wd sx's.Generally a taper is by 0.25 to 0.5 mg a day for 1-2 weeks, then lower by the same amt every 1-2weeks until off the xanax (alprazolam). Please talk to your practioner for other options.
