i have pain and swelling on the pinkey side of my wrist. no trauma. hurts when i move it side to side, pain is more on under part and side of wrist.

Family practice : Probably is tendinitis or overuse syndrome. If antiinflammatories , and rest do not give relief then see your dr. A cortisone injection might help if there is no fracture.

NOT REALLY: Probably trauma is not the cause of the cyst. Cysts in wrist are common.

ulnar sided wrist pain w/ pain weightbearing through wrist and extension/ulnar deviation. what could be causing this without any trauma but i do yoga?

I am sorry to hear you are in pain.
Certainly fracture and bone bruising can be a source of pain, but since there is no injury let's consider some other pathologies:

TFCC (triangular fibrocartilage) tear
ulnar impaction syndrome
ulnar impingement syndrome
ulnar styloid impaction syndrome
hamatolunate impingement
Tendon disease

An MRI read by a MSK radiologist can sort these out for you.

seeking doc's advice soon on wrist pain. if found fractured (due to fall trauma, ) what should i expect in terms of rehab? currently wrist functional.

Take it easy: Don't anticipate too much. If your wrist is fully functional, you may not even have a fracture but only a sprain. Rehabs are to be determined as a concerted effort between the primary care, the rehab unit and the ortho if with fracture. Again, rest it, splint it if needed and wait for the final evaluation.

i've had wrist issues for over twenty years since i was graduating high school.  most trauma i assume comes from my tennis play.  i been about a 5.0+?

Wrist Pain: May represent a wrist ligament injury, ganglion cyst, or tendon insertion injury by your description.  If not improved after 10 months i would have evaluated by musculoskeletal or hand specialist.

my finger has been swollen for 4 months. no precipitating trauma. sometimes achy but not really painful. occasional mild aches in wrist and elbow.

Arthritis: It may be early arthritis and may respond to either Ibuprofen or naprosyn (naproxen).

Possibilities: There are a number of conditions that could cause pain here, such as a sprain/strain, pronator syndrome, a cyst, etc.  It would be reasonable to watch it for a few days and try an NSAID, and then see a physician if symptoms persist.

can trauma induced carpal tunnel (kicked on wrist, never any swelling) go away on its own? creeping burn when flex or stretch, week after incident.

More likely: I'd say that it's more likely to calm down than the chronic version related to repetitive activity.
Hopefully if it is related to one injury it will gradually improve as the inflammation in the nerve calms down.
If it doesn't, I'd get an ncv study to further evaluate.

See details: There are several possible causes with tendinitis being a common one. It is impossible to offer specifics without being able to examine the wrist. See an orthopedist or rheumatologist.
