what makes my wrist hurt when i bend it?

Pain with motion can: Be from tendinitis, joint swelling, bruising, ligament injury, fracture, mild arthritis in a 40+ year old person, or even fatigue and a little soreness from activity.  Other things such as inflammation from infection, gout or other causes too can occur.  Typical treatments involve ice, rest splinting , and over the counter anti-inflammatory medication but seeking care if symptoms do not get better.

my right hand wrist hurt when i bend it to the right. i cannot really rotate my wrist without getting pain. what should i do??

Was there an injury?: Wrist pain requires careful history so as to determine what needs to be done. If there was an injury or recent overuse of the wrist and there is no swelling or redness then ice and rest the wrist to see how it does. You can also try over the counter ibuprofen or naproxen as well. If there was an injury or you see redness or swelling go see the doctor for evaluation.

why does my wrist hurt when i bend it forward , on the pinkie side, but not backward and on my thumb side?

Wrist pain: This could be a misaligned bone in the wrist.  You could see a chiropractor or osteopath who could do some manipulation. Most if the time it is a simple fix. Sometimes a little traction will help to "reduce" it.

Depends: The information you provided is not enough to make a diagnosis.  Was there trauma?  Where is it painful? How painful?  What type of pain? Etc. Etc.  I recommend that you be evaluated and x-ray  done if you think you could have broken it!

Hard to Say!: It's difficult to say without an examination and possible x-ray. A likely possibility is a Ganglionic Cyst from a remote injury. Hope you get well soon.

Sounds like: an acute GANGLION (herniation of a wrist tendon)
For now APPLY ICE and GRADUAL COMPRESSION/ELEVATION and consult Orthopedist(Hand Surgeon if available)

Wrist pain: Sounds like you may have overuse tendonitis.  Although many things can cause wrist pain.  If you rest and take nsaids for few days along with icing the area 20 minutes 3 times a day and it is not improved i would beging with your primary care provider.

my wrist hurts . it hurts to bend down , grip things , squeeze things . when i got into bed the other night i hurt it.  i couldnt sleep with the pain last night . not sure if its broken or what . ?

Try a wrist splint : If you do not have a obvious deformity, no broken skin, and does not have lots of swelling and black &amp; blue around your wrist, you do not need to worry yet. The soft tissue injuries are more often than fracture. You can try to put on a wrist splint, use heating pad, rest your hand on a pillow at night. See a doctor if not better in a week.

no injury, however my wrist hurts often. if i bend, turn or put pressure on my palm when its face down, i get a sharp pain in my wrist.. why?

X rays.: It is unclear as to the exact cause. If you have had a wrist injury it may not have healed or you could have a traumatic arthritis. See the ortho doc and get films done.
