Not necessary: Minor cuts should heal quickly on their own.  You could gargle with warm water.

The : The only way your nasal saline rinse could be coming out of your ear is if you have a hole in your eardrum.  Many people have holes in their drums without having any symptoms, so this is a definite possibility.  If it's not from a hole in your ear drum, the fluid is most likely coming from your canal and can be caused by either retained water from a shower or swimming or a canal infection.  All of these conditions need to be diagnosed by an ear exam and then can be treated.  Your best bet is to contact your doctor for an exam.

son used pharmacy brand saline nasal spray.65% sodium chloride phenylcarbinol:benzalkonium chloride moisturizing spray. he sprayed up nostril and it went down his throat. any dangers? thinking no but want to check?

No: The nasal spray going down the throat will not do harm. However, the nasal spray is not doing any good. You can make a salt solution at home, if you must rinse your nose.

rotator cuff tear. took 100 mg tramadol hcl 6 hours ago. it hurt my stomach bad. since its been 6 hours can i try switching to 2 extra strength tylenols? drs office or pharmacy isnt open yet to ask. help!

Tram. is not Tylenol: Tramadol (single ingredient Ultram) is not acetaminophen (plain Tylenol), which means if a person can take acetaminophen without problems, she should be able to take the acetaminophen without regard to when she took the tramadol. However, if she took the 2-ingredient combination (acetaminophen plus tramadol, brand name Ultracet), then taking Extra Strength Tylenol 5-6 hours afterward should be ok.

This closely matches the basic fluid component in our bodies and therefore is very similar to what the cells are used to "bathing" in.  Things like betadine, peroxide and alcohol are very damaging to the cells as is "letting the air get to it".  You should wet a gauze pad with saline and gently clean the surface of the wound.  Dress it after.

my 4 month old baby girl has a blocked tear duct but it's not getting better. every day it's crusty & she rubs it. what else can i do besides saline?

Depends on situation: This is common in newborns &amp; given some time &amp; growth the blockage can clear on its own as the duct becomes larger.If still blocked at 6m &amp; unresponsive to simple measures, an ophthalmologist may need to probe the duct &amp; clear the blockage. One simple measure involves rolling the tip of the finger over the inner corner of the eye over the tear sac of the eye which may push out any blockage

7 y/o child. stepped on tac in house. barely went in. only drop of blood. cleaned wound w/saline sol & iodine. used antibiotic gel & bandaged. wound tiny & clean. says barely burns. think ok?

Probably fine: I would verify the kid has his/her tetanus up to date (normally has booster at 4-5) and keep the wound clean.That should be sufficient. Look at it daily to be sure no signs of infection show up.
