Aphthous ulcers: Recurrent aphthous stomatitis (RAS) is a common condition, restricted to the mouth, that typically starts in childhood or adolescence as recurrent small, round, or ovoid ulcers with circumscribed margins, erythematous haloes, and yellow or gray floors. A positive family history of similar ulcers is common, and the natural history is typically of resolution in the third decade of life.

Oral sores: You should be tested for syphilis immediately. Do not kiss anyone as that can spread the disease.

: Hmmmm.  With the limited info you give me I advise stop bitting your tongue. Wound to me means something injured your tongue. Biting on a knife?  or cancer from chewing Betel Nuts.  Pictures are good.

Blood in Sputum: A tear in the blood vessels in the base of the tongue can cause bleeding, but it is not high up on my list. Go see an ENT for a complete history and exam.

Should heal: This may be small cuts, abrasions, or irritations, most likely from some food you ate.  Should heal quickly, in a couple of days.  If this does not heal  then get checked by a dentist.

: You let it self heal. The saliva has some antibacterial qualities and these heal over time. It would be prudent to avoid food or drink which you know would be painful while it heals.

how can i heal an accidental wound on my tongue?

Leave it alone: The tongue is very vascular and usually heals very well on its own.  If it is a large lesion, you may need to see a dentist or oral surgeon for stitches. If it is small, leave the area alone, use warm salt water rinses several times a day to help relieve pain, and take Ibuprofen for pain as needed. If you have any doubts, go see your dentist.

Lip swelling: There are salivary glands on the inside of the lip and under the tongue that can swell up and sometimes get clogged up that can result in swelling also.

Have it checked: The most likely causes would be trauma ( a burn from hot or acidic foods) or a viral infection.  When you are first infected with oral herpes (cold sores) it can cause sores all over your mouth called primary herpetic gingivostomatosis. You should see your dentist so they can rule out any other causes that may require treatment and/or prescribe a rinse that may help with pain.
