im on zoloft100mg ativan (lorazepam) 2mg mecardis  80 mg for high blood pressure i took risperdal .05 mg after 15dys may but my pressure drop is that  temporary ?

Risperdal 0.5 mg: Risperdal can cause a marked drop in BP and it may not be temporary . However, don't "treat a number", treat the person. In other words, don't be alarmed by a BP that is much lower than you're used to seeing if you're otherwise feeling ok (not dizzy or passing out). Stop the Micardis (telmisartan) if your BP is too low.

could it be serotonin syndrome? i ,28f, take 100mg seroquel, 50mg of hydroxizne, have recently gone from 75mg venlafaxine to 150mg. my blood pressure been awful so i was prescribed 5mg amlodipine friday. i took 3mg ativan, feel weird hyper, unusual?

: You are taking a bunch of medications which may have significant interaction; however, your current symptoms are not consistent with serotonin syndrome.

if i take an ativan before a cortisol am blood test, will the ativan effect my cortisol levels result?

Accepted Answer

Possibly: Reducing anxiety (Ativan ). Can lower cortisol levels but Ativan does not directly affect cortisol levels.  So, if you took Ativan due to anxiety before the cortisol blood test the result could be a lower cortisol level than you would have had without the anxiety.

would .5 of ativan (lorazepam) 3x daily maintain a steady blood level?

Accepted Answer

Possibly: Ativan (lorazepam) is a short acting benzodiazepine. Barring any liver disease or competing medications for its metabolism, taking Ativan (lorazepam) three times a day should maintain a fairly stable blood level after 4-5 days. It is always best to talk to your doctor about the dose and frequency that is best for you based upon your response to the medication. Hope this helps!

just wondering,  if i were to use lorazepam (ativan) but stop using it 1-2 days before a blood test could this cause my creatinine levels to elevate?

: Seriously doubt the Ativan use or nonuse has any relationship to changes in creatinine levels.  If this is elevated, discuss how to manage with your doctor.

the side effects of lexapro (escitalopram) are safe right? i'm not in any danger? is it okay to take .5 mg of ativan while on it? my head has funny pressure it sucks

Generally, yes: Lexapro (escitalopram) often has early side effects which should disappear over the next few weeks.  If any of the symptoms you are feeling in your head become severe, call your doc.  The Ativan .5mg is fine, assuming that your doc prescribed it and knows that you are taking it.

does ativan (lorazepam) raise eye pressure?

It should not: Ativan is lorazepam.  It is a variant of valium.  It is a calming agent and muscle relaxant.  Eye pressure may be due to glaucoma that can be made worse with certain medications.  However, I am not aware of Ativan being one of those medications.  You need to consult your eye specialist.

Only in OD: At therapeutic doses Ativan (lorazepam) does not dilate blood vessels. However, on overdose, dilation of blood vessels and hypotension can occur. Best wishes.

Deug testing.: If have legitimate prescriptions and reasons for taking these then you must be honest in providing this information to testing party. Ativan (lorazepam) has long half life, but i suggest be honest if their use is legit.

i have been having vertigo symptoms while taking ativan (lorazepam). is this normal? i have had blood work done and have visited a doctor and everything is normal

Common isn't normal: Dizziness is a fairly common side effect of Ativan (lorazepam) so it may be what's happening. It's good that the tests/exam found you physically okay. Discuss this with Dr and if it's not minimal, perhaps try CBT therapy instead of a pill or to lower dose and shorten need.
