Possible, unlikely: The cause of weakness or paralysis of the diaphragm is injury or dysfunction of the phrenic nerve or from muscle disease of the diaphragm muscles. An electromyogram can help sort this out. Usually other nerves or muscles are affected that can be more easily tested. Pesticide exposure is a remote, unlikely cause but could be considered in the work-up. Good wishes:)

Diaphragm: Paralysis of a diaphragm does reduce that lung's expansion thus cutting down of lung capacity. To determine the degree, you would have to undergo pulmonary function testing. A pulmonologist can advise you the best.

"Twitch": you describe is more akin to a hiccough than a heart arrythmia!

See a lung doctor: I think it is worthwhile seeing a pulmonologist  to have a pulmonary function test.  This might be helpful in terms of isolating the cause of your symptoms.
