: There is practically no absorption from a vitamin patch. So if you need the vitamins and your GI tract is absorbing little (how do you know this?)then maybe double up on ingestion of the vitamins.

Vitamins: Vitamines are supplements the only purpose of taking them is to suppliment what you mau not get in the fppd you eat, or you are not able to absorp due to some medical condition or you have documented deficiency nof one or more.If you take mega doses of vitamins or tale it too often then you can have upset stomach like nausea and in case or vitamin c, it can cause diarrhea, and cramps in abdomen.

Yes but . . .: It's normal to feel nauseated during your pregnancy (i'm assuming you're pregnant since you're taking a prenatal vitamin). But you may be more sensitive to some prenatal vitamins than others so experiment by trying different ones. Or try hiding it in your meals.

Vitamins cause pain: There are many possibilities.  Vitamin pills contain many ingredients and often have several different types of fillers.  One of the commonest nutrients to cause stomach pain is iron.  You may be sensitive to other constituents eg chemical fillers.  If the pills have iron then get a food source multivitamin without iron and try that for several days to see if the pain clears up.

Deficient ones: If you eat a well-balanced diet, you may not need many. It appears that many are vitamin d deficient. This as well as B12 and folate can be measured via blood tests. "overdoing" it on them can cause not only side effects but may prompt illness or worsening of ongoing medical problems.
