50/50: If one of your alleles of the hd gene is in the premutation range and the other is not, you have a 50:50 chance of passing it to an offspring. Interestingly, if the premutation allele is inherited from the father it has a higher probability of expanding the number of repeats to the disease causing range than if that same premutation allele was inherited from the mother.

Combining medication and psychotherapy can be effective for addressing mood symptoms in hd. There is no effective treatment for cognitive symptoms at the moment. Unfortunately, treatments help with symptoms but not the progression of hd.
