A member asked:

Is there a cure for huntington's disease?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Available Treatments: No, but treatments are becoming available. In 2008, tetrabenazine was the first fda approved drug for chorea in hd; discuss this option with your neurologist. Combining medication and psychotherapy can be effective for addressing mood symptoms in hd. There is no effective treatment for cognitive symptoms at the moment. Unfortunately, treatments help with symptoms but not the progression of hd.
