Generally: The xl costs more than the sr or regular buproprion.  If u r doing well on 7.00 version, no need 2 change butthe xl has the benefit of daily dosing which helps improve compliance.  Good luck.

Antidepressant: Wellbutrin is a brand name for bupropion, an antidepressant.  Like all antidepressants, it changes brain chemistry while it's being taken, although the exact way it helps depression isn't known.  Unlike most other antidepressants, wellbutrin mainly affects dopamine, a neurotransmitter also involved in addiction and craving, so it is also prescribed to help people stop smoking.

In fact, wellbutrin (bupropion) is sometimes used to treat people with attention deficit disorder (add), and as such, could improve attention, comprehension, and memory.

Depends.: That would depend on what the wellbutrin (bupropion) sr is prescribed to treat. Wellbutrin (bupropion) sustained release would generally be used to treat depression, however it is also used for smoking cessation (zyban) and off label for adhd and substance use disorders. We also add it to other antidepressants to try and reverse sexual dysfunction. 100 mgs daily would be the lowest dose of that form of the medication.
