Swelling usually indicates an infection which if left untreated can lead to serious complications.  Therefore, the sooner you see a dentist for treatment, the sooner you will feel better and be out of danger.

Wisdom teeth: If wisdom teeth are erupting it can cause pain in the area of the jaw near the ear. If the gum tissue around the erupting teeth, usually lower wisdom teeth, becomes infected, it can cause swollen lymph nodes.
If you are having these symptoms, see your dentist for an examination, and to check for causes. You may have an infection elsewhere in your mouth.

YeS!: If not able to clean, wisdom teeth can get infected by oral bacteria (cavity).  This infection can spread into the salivary glands and glands below the tongue.  These glands can swell, causing difficulty swallowing.  Trying too hard to swallow can cause reflux symptoms.  Get those infected teeth out!  a dental problem can become a medical problem very quickly if they are not removed.

It varies: As a general rule, the larger the wound- the longer the healing. Molar teeth in the back of the mouth take longer to heal than front teeth. Sutures may help cut down on the healing time. As long as the wound heals unobstructed, pain will diminish and normal activities can resume in less than a week. Although it may take 6-8 weeks for the gum tissue to completely regenerate. So follow directions!

i've had a 0,5 cm swollen lymph node for 2 months. doc said nothing to worry about. now i think i can see 3 wisdom teeth hidden in my gums. my ear/throat hurts. can wisdom teeth cause a swollen lymph?

Infection: A swollen lymph node can be a sign of an infection, even a chronic one.  This is something you should see your doctor about right away.  You might need antibiotic treatment, or you could have an abscess, which would need to be drained.  Call your physician for an appointment ASAP.
