It can: Condoms are designed for single use only. Once used, they are stretched and are not as strong. Also, if used, there is semen in the condom which may enter the vagina. Always use a fresh condom, apply it correctly, and remove it quickly to prevent spillage or breaking.

Yes: A pin hole is an open door to the sperm.  That is all that is necessary for the condom to fail.

Accepted Answer

Depends: Condoms are not 100% effective in preventing pregnancy. That understood,  if the condom is intact without holes or tears and it is covering the penis before intercourse begins, it is an effective method of contraception. As a barrier to sperm, it does not matter which side is used.

Guideline: If your cycles are very regular and you ovulated on March 25, by March 27th your egg wouldn't be viable and conception wouldn't be possible on March 30th.. This is only a guideline. If you miss your next period, perform a pregnancy test.

Accepted Answer

Depends!: Emergency contraception is enough to prevent pregnancy in most cases if taken as directed during window of opportunity (usually within 72 hours for maximum effectiveness, moderate within 120 hours).  For instance, altavera, amethia & marlissa etc must be taken as 4 tabs twice 12 hours apart while Levonorgestrel is 1 tab twice 12 hours apart. It's not clear to me what your wife took, if correctly.

how likely is it for condom slippage to cause pregnancy if i was ovulating, he ejaculated, and the condom was inside of me for about 48 hours?

Risky for pregnancy: Plan b is advised immediately to next day in such cases. You can check with store bought pregnancy kit about one week after next period is due if normal menstruation does not occur. Good luck.

Agree w Dr. Brand: Most studies have shown low levels of sperm or no sperm in pre-ejaculate with sperm not being motile (however, don't know how promptly samples were examined). Low risk but some: An erect penis is secreting sperm containing semen continuously. Any intercourse, even 10 sec, without protection could leave behind the one sperm that is needed for conception. That risk is lower than when a full ejaculate is left but is still possible.
