Depends!: Emergency contraception is enough to prevent pregnancy in most cases if taken as directed during window of opportunity (usually within 72 hours for maximum effectiveness, moderate within 120 hours). For instance, altavera, amethia & marlissa etc must be taken as 4 tabs twice 12 hours apart while Levonorgestrel is 1 tab twice 12 hours apart. It's not clear to me what your wife took, if correctly.
