hi! i have recently been vomitting up stomach vile (maybe for the past week) and it's not stopping. can i take pepto bismol (bismuth subsalicylate) for it?

Yes, but...: If you've been vomiting for a solid week, I would see your doctor as soon as you can regardless.  These at worst can be signs of a serious infection or an intestinal blockage.  Pepto bismol (bismuth subsalicylate) will be unlikely to help this, though it can be taken.

Unlikely: Alcohol is a poison that never did anybody any good, ever, so stay away from it.
Wish you good health! - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex, if you have sex.

i have had vomiting and diahreah since sunday evening.  ate some soup yesterday have also tried pepto bismol (bismuth subsalicylate). but still have diahreah.  any other ideas on what i could take?

Usually need time...: Most cases of viral gastroenteritis are mild, self-limited, and not life threatening.  These resolve on their own with supportive care (drink fluids to prevent dehydration, eat moderately as tolerated, as needed analgesia). In special cases (newborns, elderly, debilitated) hospitalization may be required to provide IV fluids and to support co-morbid medical conditions.

This : This question is under the "obstetrics" division, is she pregnant?  If she is pregnant she needs to be seen immediately.  If she is having continued cramping or pain, vomiting, or fever then she needs an emergency evaluation.

Hello. : Hello. You may want to start with sips of room temperature water.  Flat gingerale can help sometimes. You can also make some ginger tea. Put slices of organic ginger in a tea pot and allow to steep in boiling water for at least five minutes. Start with sips. Avoid acidic juices (tomato, orange, grapefruit), coffee, tea or dark sodas.  If you find that despite attempts to hydrate yourself that you have a rapid resting heart rate (ie. 120), or that you feel faint or dizzy when going from lying to sitting or sitting to standing, then you may be dehydrated. If this is the case, you can consider going to an acute care clinic or an er, as you might need intravenous hydration. Hope you feel better soon.

my son vomits 1 to 7 times a day. he does not feel sick before or after he vomits and has been doing this for several months and he has tried pepto bismol and nexium (esomeprazole) for acid.

Excessive : Excessive vomiting can cause a lot of problems, including electrolyte imbalances and damage to the teeth.  1-7 times per day for several months is definitely excessive.

Your son needs to be evaluated by a physician.  Assuming that this vomiting is not happening on purpose, he may have an obstruction in his gastrointestinal tract or a problem with the normal contractions of the stomach itself (called gastroparesis).

Hello. : Hello. If you have been vomiting bile, it is really important that you get medically evaluated.  You could have problems with your liver, your gall bladder or your pancrease (pancrelipase).

i've been having black stools then normal ones then black ones but with no pain or vomiting or any other symptom just black stools. and i have not took any pepto bismul i don't know what else to do??

: You need to be seen by a doctor since black stools may indicate blood in the stools. Any time there is blood in the stools, it needs to be diagnosed. You may need a colonoscopy from a GI doctor to determine why you have black stools. Any bleeding into the GI tract needs to be investigated to be certain there is no tumor causing this issue.
