I've been having black stools then normal ones then black ones but with no pain or vomiting or any other symptom just black stools. and i have not took any pepto bismul i don't know what else to do??

You need to be seen by a doctor since black stools may indicate blood in the stools. Any time there is blood in the stools, it needs to be diagnosed. You may need a colonoscopy from a GI doctor to determine why you have black stools. Any bleeding into the GI tract needs to be investigated to be certain there is no tumor causing this issue. Black stools, especially if they are foul smelling or tarry, indicate internal bleeding in your digestive tract and are a medical emergency. If you have any further black stools, you should go to the emergency room immediately. If not, you should make an appointment to see your primary doctor or a gastroenterologist for further evaluation. Good luck.
