Infections: Nobody can tell if an infected lesion is due to Staph or another bacteria without a culture.  However, if a sore or wound, is hot, has pus, is tender, or increasing pain or redness, it is likely infected.  A bug bite can be red and a little warm and itchy, but no pus or severe pain is present.  Apply Bacitracin and a bandaid after cleaning with dilute soap and water twice a day.  If worse: to MD!

Male yeast infection: Usually only non-circumcised men get yeast infections under the foreskin.  Pulling back the foreskin will show some "white slimy stuff" which can be yeast.  If this continues, see your healthcare provider.

my 2month baby having cold and cough infection from 7 days and now she is passing little clot of blood with mucus  and can see red spot all over fore head is this worried full  but here no one giving her medicine could you give me  guidance.?

Need more info: What you describe sounds like she is coughing  so hard that she has what is called "peticheae" (tiny bleeds into skin) on her forehead. It needs to be evaluated by your doctor right away. Pertussis infection comes to mind, which would be concerning at her age. Seek medical attention and/or go to er. If she is breathing heavy, is not feeding well or "looks sick" you should go to er tonight.

: Yeast infections can be passed back and forth between partners. In men it generally involves the head of the penis and foreskin if there's one. Balanitis causes the head of the penis to be red,irritated and itchy.  I haven't seen one affect the penis shaft. I recommend treating him with antifungal ointment&amp;you taking another course of diflucan. Abstain from intercourse until you're both cleared.

i've rec'd amoxicillin 500 mg every 8 hrs for 10 days for a strep infection. this is day 6. my throat looks better than the all over angry red w white spot like the head of a pin; now, my throat isn't as red but the white spot is now nickel size?

Symptoms: The infection is resolving. Finish 10 days of the antibiotic and the symptoms return, please see your PCP. Additional cultures may be obtained at that time.

Not exactly: if you took a scissors and cut the hair, it wouldn't itch. Itching is a skin or lower issue. The pulling of hair if it pulls on the skin might. Some people get hives/histamine release from skin being rubbed/pulled irritated (anti-histamines help). Some feel itching instead of other sensations in the skin (nerve pills help).
