i have been facing so many problems related to my eyes, i have dry eyes too, recently i have noticed a black spot on my iris of left eye, my vision in that eye is getting blurred, pain in that eye, hallucinations in both eyes floaters and flashes too?

20yo guy.dark brown eyes.a small black spot in on iris.last eye checkup was 5-6 mnths ago. seems slightly raised.vision=ok.pupil=ok concerns:melanoma?

"OK" to be concerned: Iris nevi should be periodically assessed for growth as should any pigmented skin lesions. At your age melanoma iris risk is low. If pigment spot is significant i would recommend careful anterior segment photography to allow comparison over time. Iris melanoma's when they do occur are usually of the lowest grade of malignancy ; thus have a favorable prognosis if surgery is ever indicated.

i just noticed a dark black spot on iris of left eye, i too have twitching stabbing pain (not irritation )  and vertical double vision, rainbow halos, dark spot us like line connecting boundary of cornea and pupil, is it melanoma??

Eye doctor can help: Eye problems require special exams with special instruments. A patient can help his primary care doctor and eye doctor by first writing down on a calendar diary some descriptions of his symptoms, when they started, what their severities are, how long they last, what makes them better, what makes them worse, etc..., and show the diary to his doctors.

Commonly squigglies: or floaters are from the loss of clarity of the gel-like substance inside your eye (vitreous). This is a natural process in most patients and does not require treatment. Your eye doctor will check for retinal tears or retinal detachments that can sometimes be associated with new floaters. Retinal issues would require treatment. Be well.

i have a black spot on the left part of the white part of my eye. there is red lines basically around this spot, should i be concerned/?

Worth evaluation: If this is new, it should be investigated.  Could be an exposed tissue from inside the eye,  a tumor, or a foreign object, or some other possibilities.  See your ophthalmologist.

Visual disturbance: Could be from congestion because when you sleep the fluids from congestion flow into the eye area.Would elevate head of bed with pillow between mattress and boxspring. That being said follow up today with optometrist(lenscrafters, hour eyes) as they can get a good look at the eye and are accesible  and can tell you if something in the eye needs immediate attention. f/u w/ doc may need antibiotics

Dangerous!: Sounds like you might have a retinal detachment, which could threaten your eyesight.  You need to be seen by a specialist as soon as possible.  
It could possibly be something less serious, especially if it comes and goes, but don't take any chances with your sight please.  Good luck.

Be seen now!: Please see your doctor ASAP as this could be a sign of an ocular stroke or a retinal artery occlusion. I would probably go the to an ER with an ophthalmologist on staff to get fully checked out.

when i blink, i see a black spot in the corner of my left eye. should i be worried?

Accepted Answer

Maybe: This may signifiy a problem with the retina.  When you blink it stresses the retina with rapid changes in light intensity and may uncover a weaker spot.  Should be looked at with a dilated examination by an ophthalmologist.
