ACID: The stomach contains hydrochloric acid.  When vomiting, this material can irritate the throat and mouth.  Also, the straining may irritate the soft palate.

Yes: Trauma of any type can cause inflammation around the palatal tori and thus make it swollen.  Resolution will generaly occur within a few days as long as no further irritation occurs.

i have a swollen lump on the roof my mouth (hard palate), that is located evenly with the left side of my back teeth but over a little, painful.?

Palatal tori: It may be palatal tori, which is a normal overgrowth of bone on the roof of your mouth.  Sometimes food or your toothbrush can scrap the tender tissue stretching over the tori causing pain. Rinse with warm salt water. You need to see a dentist to make sure you do not have a palatal abcess due to an infected tooth or less likely oral cancer.

Usually viral: While a number of things can cause such symptoms, the most likely cause would be a viral infection.  Strep might be a consideration, as well.  Check in with your doctor to be sure.

I : I do not think the swelling is related to your run, but more so to irritation or an abcess, the cause of which cannot be determined over the internet.

Why don't you go see a dentist who can physically see you. Determine what your problem is, and advise you of the proper course of treatment?

: Oh so many possibilities.  You will have to be seen to be diagnosed, either by your Dentist, anspecialist in Oral Medicine, or an Oral Pathology specialist. Contact a practitioner, explain hour dilemma, ask to be seen when the problem surfaces again. Probably herpetic.

Inhaler technique: Thrush is always a concern when using asthma inhalers. Make sure you are washing your mouth out after each use and review inhaler technique with your doctor at your next follow-up appointment. Sometimes adding a spacer to your device can assist. If an ENT evaluated your mouth then likely not thrush. Inhaled steroids can cause sore throat as a side effect. Address with prescribing provider.

Mouth swollen: It is very acidic in the stuff you threw up and that might burn your throat and tissue it touched. If you have sensitive skin, the burned area will get swollen as a result.
