Dermatitis: Dryness of the skin or seborrheic dermatitis is the most likely condition causing your problem.  There are many treatments for this but i would advise seeing a dermatologist for this.  Other problems associated with this are excessive dandruff and dryness of the scalp.  Lubrication of the rim of your ear with mineral oil and a good shampoo will probably be adequate.

Different diagnosis : Though the various diagnosis can be related it is not clear if you are making all the diagnosis. Viral upper respiratory infection can cause all the symptoms. See a doctor for accurate diagnosis and treatment

Sounds like: eczema.  Try otc topical hydrocortisone cream.  If it persists or worsens, it could also be fungus infection, so see a dermatologist for further advice.

Dermatologist: This crease behind your ear is a classical site for seborrheic keratitis.  This a skin condition which can be treated with careful cleansing of the skin followed by a small amount of topical cortisone.  If these measures do not help, i would advise seeing a dermatologist.

Seborrhea: One of the most common causes of peeling skin behind the ear which can also included swelling and discomfort is "Seborrhei Dermatitis aka Seborrhea"  Sometimes the flaking, peeling skin is found inside the ear, on the scalp, in the eyebrows and on the sides of the nose.  This is a yeast infection of the skin.  It is easily treated.  However, other causes do exist.  See your doctor.
