why did i wake up with a sore stomach?

Need more info...: Where in your abdomen is your soreness?  Are there associated symptoms, bleeding, discharge?  Any defects or surgical repairs?  Any known diseases like irritable bowel syndrome, inflammatory bowel disease, ulcers?  What did you eat, drink, or do last night?  Over-exercising lately?  Urinary or female issues? Help us best help you by providing more information please.

Refluxing at night?: A person with stomach aches upon awakening can make a diary of symptoms, writing them down on a big calendar. Include descriptions of the symptoms, when they occur, how long they last, what makes them better, what worsens them, any relation to foods or meds, any relation to activities, etc... Then, he can take the diary to the doctor. Gastric reflux and excess acidity can be a cause.

my stomach and chest is sore every mourning. when i wake up i also feel rattling in my chest could it b bronchialitis?

Gerd: If the symptoms are when you get up and then go away unlikely bronchitis.  Gerd would cause these symptoms or nocturnal asthma.

Abdominal pain: This is very little information to make a comment.
Based on the duration, location, associated symptoms it could be from ulcer, irritable bowel, inflammatory disease, may be intra abdominal tumors. Have an exam and get help.

every morning i wake up with very sore stomach. it can make it hard to stand up. feels like someone punched me all over the stomach. i do have type 1 diabetes but i dont know if this has to do with it. what could be some possibilities ?

: I doubt if the diabetes has much to do with your soreness.  You may be quite active in your sleep.  You might try stretching prior to standing.  Some soreness may be related to activity that you engaged in prior to sleep.

Long list: Even though morning stomach pain is probably nothing to worry about, you shouldn’t ignore a severe ache that doesn’t go away. Persistent pain could indicate a serious problem, so seek medical attention.
Etiology of AM pain is : PUD, IBS, IBD, Constipation, Pancreatitis, Celiac disease, Diverticulitis and many more
Most stomachaches aren't serious and the symptoms pass quickly.

Gastritis: You could have gastritis or gastroesophogeal reflux disease. What I do not like is that this has started at 74 years old, so I do not recommend taking any medication until you have a complete evaluation by a gastroenterologist.

See below: It sounds as if you are experiencing mittellschmirtz (sp). That's when your ovary releases your egg. There may be a little bleeding, which can cause pain.

See a Dr.: Impossible to determine a cause/causes of your symptoms without a thorough history and exam.  Is this a one time occurrence or have had bouts with these symptoms before?

Pain : Pain in this area is very tricky since there are many organ systems in the epigastric area and right upper quadrant of the abdomen. 
- stomach - problems such as gastroesophageal reflux, gastritis, and stomach ulcers can cause pain in these areas - usually worse with eating and worse while laying down 
- pancreas - pancreatitis, pancreatic stones/blockages can cause epigastric pain, sometimes radiating to the back 
- liver/gallbladder - hepatitis, gall stones or gall bladder disease can cause pain in the right upper quadrant
- intestinal - duodenal ulcers, infections and constipation can cause pain there because the colon loops up into that area 
- kidney - kidney stones or infections can cause pain in the right upper quadrant, though many people feel it in their backs. 
- gyne - ovarian pain from a cyst or even an infection from a sexually transmitted disease can cause pain in the right upper quadrant.

And all those are just a few of the things that could be going on. So, your best option is to be seen by a doctor and examined to determine the cause of your pain.  If your doctor is not sure what is causing your pain, you might benefit from speaking with a specialist.

Reasons to go to the er are: 
- high fever 
- bloody stool 
- bright green or bloody vomit 
- severe or worsening pain 
- difficulty breathing.
