Possible Raynaud: In this condition the fingers can turn white and feel numb but generally in response to cold temperature but usually it should affect all the fingers. See an allergist.

Try : Try splinting your wrist, especially at night. If it helps you may have some early problems with carpal tunnel syndrome.

Median nerve: It is the median nerve that supplies tip of the index finger. Median nerve must be getting compressed or damaged somewhere from your neck, shoulder, elbow or wrist. Did you have a recent injury to your wrist or arm? Anything compress your elbow? Any shoulder or neck injury ?  You said you woke up that way, did you sleep in an unusual position?

Unless red.....: Unless red, give it time.  I doubt a razor could injure any significant nerves, as you described (not deep).  Plus, nerves grow back at that area ~1 cm per month.  The area will be normal in 3 months.

Numb/light sensitive: With numbness and light sensitive would f/u/w /ER today.  Need to check for optic nerve swelling/ retinitis uveitis/ iritis , autoimmune process  or MS and may need MRI,  or may be lyme,   F/u w/ ER today

See  hand specialist: May be some nerve damage, usually transient.  Would see a hand and upper extremity specialist;  most doctors unfamiliar with nerves.
