Alcohol  is a gastrointestinal IRRITANT!

Don't drink: It sounds like you've been a rather chronic drinker. I don't know how much you drink but if you fear going into withdrawal then it would be best to sign in for detox. I don't want to see you get dehydrated from the diarrhea which he described as severe. You should definitely stop the alcohol, but only in safe setting, and regardless of what your blood test showed, you need to see a G.I. Doctor to find out the exact cause of your diarrhea. It may be the alcohol or it actually could be something else. Push fluids nonalcoholic fluids and contact your doctor at the earliest possibility. If you're getting too dehydrated and have someheadaches lightheadedness dizziness and leg cramps, you should have someone drive you to the emergency room for fluid replacement. Best wishes.

Medicinal Marijuana: Because....Marijuana is a very good anti-nausea and anti-gi cramping herb that is commonly used through out the world for its medicinal purposes.  

It you are getting sick with alcohol i would guess you are drinking way too much and/or too often.  Your body is trying to communicate this to you by getting sick.

Mj works best as prevention that is why you notice the differences mentioned above.

Trigger: Sounds as if alcohol is the trigger for causing migraines for you.  Usually red wine, but can be any form of alcohol.  Migraines can be triggered by anything, but chocolate, caffeine, stress, alcohol, (specific red with) are common triggers.

i am on 20 mg of lexapro (escitalopram) and i find that when i drink alcohol i get drunk really fast.  i also get sick. i had 5 drinks last night and threw up a lot.

Lexapro (escitalopram) : Any antidepressant and alcohol is bad combo. It's not recommended and could lead to other health problems. Best see your prescribing doc and discuss this

Try NONalcoholic one: If a person gets diarrhea each time after drinking an alcoholic drink, she can keep a diary of the different kinds of drinks and foods that are consumed prior to the diarrhea. The cause may be the alcohol, if the person's stomach and intestines really get irritated by alcohol, but it may more likely be the other ingredients in mixed drinks (milk, cream, sugar, ...), or ingredients in the foods.

Irritant: In general, alcohol can irritate the digestive system.  Many people get diarrhea from drinking.  The more a person drinks, the worse it can get. You should discuss with your doctor to get specific information relevant to you.  For example, do you have an underlying medical condition which makes it more likely that you'll get diarrhea from drinking alcohol? Could you be drinking too much, etc?
