Vitamin C: In citrus foods (or when taken in excess as a supplement) can cause loose stool, the fiber content in the fruit causes water to stay in the intestines and therefore causes looser stool, and for some people, food sensitivities to citrus causes diarrhea.

Soft Stools & Fruit: Yes, of course.  Fruit, especially in abundance is well known to cause a softening of the stool.

: Fruits do cause diarrhea in some people more than others. Fruit contains the sugar, fructose which tends to be a laxative. Fiber and lycopene in fruits also tend to loosen stools.  Again some people eats lots of fruits with no symptoms. Eat smaller portions,avoid eating thick skins on fruit and try to determine which fruits are more problematic for you.

Not in excess: yes you can eat fruits and vegetable but in moderation when you have diarrhea.  you need to avoid fruit juices and lactose containing products while having loose stools.  food that binds the stools should be eaten more: white rice, white noodles, white meat baked or broiled. do not eat the skin of the fruits or vegetables and do not exceed these.

High sugar &amp; fiber: All fruits have fructose, a sugar that can be hard to digest, like lactose in milk.  In addition, they both have a high water and fiber content, which tends to give a softer, larger stool. The amount and type of fiber varies with each fruit, so some are more problematic than others.  There is no treatment other than adjusting intake.

As for the diarrhea, fiber also reduces the time it takes food to travel through the gut. To help: drink more water, exercise more, and eat fruit (or other fibrous foods) more often.

Digestion: PCOS has nothing to do with bowel function. Your interests would be best served by speaking with a dietician or nutritionist. Fruits and vegetables in the combinations that you may be eating may not be providing you with adequate nutrition.
