i'm in perimenopause, attempting to prevent future lines and wrinkles in my oily skin with mild moisturizers, but glycerin seems to cause acne. is that common, or is it an allergy?

No: Not allergy but comedogenic - minimize soap and water contact to prevent dryness - use light sunscreen with high spf.

Prune skin: According to one study it was once thought that this was because water was being absorbed which caused swelling. ?: Do you mean prickling as in pin pricks or tingling on to the skin, if so have electrolytes like calcium, potassium and magnesium checked. Replacement may help if this is the cause.  Also d/w your doctor what other things could cause your symptoms.

Skin discoloration: Changes in hormone levels in combination with sun exposure over the years contributes to discoloration of the skin. Daily sun protection. A topical retinoid and vit c are good preventive measures.

Fluttering: Hot flashes are sometimes described as a fluttering feeling, if you do not have any other underlying medical conditions &amp; this was an isolated occurrence then you are probably okay, however if persists then would recommend evaluation w/ Physician.

Possible: As the estrogen levels decrease with the onset of menopause, many women do notice changes in their skin.  Talk to your doctor about treatment.

what would cause a head rush feeling around 5am .im in perimenopause,it dont happen every night. though.its usually when im trying to drift off to sleep.and always at the same time,ive had blood work and all came back normal.dr says anxiety but i dont see

Probably.: I believe that lack of sleep is probably causing the headaches , anxiety and the itchy skin. Hormonal changes  often brings changes in our body causing involutional melancholia. Please have your PCP check you up and get your hormonal levels and treat them if appropriate.

Anxiety &amp; Menopause: Yes, anxiety can cause feelings of pressure in your head, and tingling sensations.  Your BP appears normal.  But feeling warm and/or night sweats are common in menopause.  Check with your gynecologist re your hormonal levels, you may be moving into menopause.  If so, there are a variety of treatment options.  If all OK and just anxiety, see a psychologist for CBT psychotherapy.  Good luck!

can perimenopause cause paresthesias which are felt on the face (tingling) & top of head (dripping)?  if so, are there any treatments e.g. hormones?

Maybe: it certainly causes it's hot flashes usually not tingling. Do  video consult or see I doctor for more specific valuation of your symptoms
