Pain: Women can have atypical symptoms of heart disease. You are young but you smoke which increases your risk for heart disease even without other risk factors. Make an appt to see your doctor and start devising your smoking cessation plan!

Pinched nerve: Because patients having cardiac problems can have these symptoms, you should have this ruled out.  But the most common cause is an irritation of a nerve in the neck by a bone spur or herniation that can cause pain or numbness that runs down the arm into the hand.  An MRI can usually show the cause of the problem if it does not resolve.  Thank you for the question.

Go see ur FamilyDoc: Sensitivity to touch makes me think of zoster/shingles (http://goo.gl/TaqS6s). Without that, I think of pleurisy which could due to pneumonia. Perhaps you overdid one of your upper body exercise routines (although this shouldn't usually cause pleurisy or painful breathing). Bottom line, you need to see your Family Doc for complete &amp; thorough evaluation.

Anything's possible: You don't mention your age, barbara511911, but it's possible that your fast heart rate is precipitating angina, especially if you have cardiac risk factors and are not as young as you used to be. Why not have a talk with your primary care doctor about these worrisome symptoms? This would be a terrific reason for doing a stress test!

: Left are pain without any other symptoms in someone your age is very unlikely to be from a heart attack and more likely to be a musculoskeletal issue. What were you doing when this pain started?
