my 3 1/2 baby has an sudden increase of appetite he drunk up 8oz in one feeding!! and sometimes 5 and still wants more to eat. is it time for cereal?

Discuss with peds: Most folks wait till 6 months but many will start rice cereal at 4 months.  Check with your pediatrician as to what makes sense for you and your baby.

Why risk it: Sexual intercourse is such a thrilling and intimate activity, why would you want to dull that pleasure with alcohol.  If your goal is to make your partner pregnancy, the enhanced stimulation without the use of alcohol can only be helpful.  That said, alcohol probably will not interfere with the chance of pregnancy, but why b other?

if you concieve a baby when you are drunk, will that episode harm the baby?

Accepted Answer

Not likely: At the time fo conception, none of the fetal parts or organs are even starting to develop - so there is nothing to be damaged by the exposure to alcohol except the sperm and egg.  If either were affected by the insult of the alcohol, then the pregnancy could not progress and develop.  The result would be no pregnancy.

if im trying to get pregnant. or i end up pregnant and not knowing about it, would it kill my baby if i got drunk on multiple occasions?

Fetal alcohol syndro: The fetus is the most sensitive to alcohol in the first trimester. Alcohol won't kill it, but could lead to developmental problems. If you are trying to get pregnant i recommend abstaining from alcohol.

See your doctor: Please go and see your doctor.  There are many reasons why she may have this.  Additionally, she does not need to drink any water.  She needs calories from breast milk or formula.

Alcohol enters milk: Babies can experience the effects of alcohol and other substances that pass through the milk.  Some substances get through in very small amounts, while others are concentrated in milk--giving the baby a higher dose per pound of body weight then the mom took.  It is not recommended to consume much alcohol when breast-feeding.  Some research suggests that even small amounts may have long-term effect.

i drunk 42oz drink before i found out it had caffeine 2 days ago. my 7 wk old baby won't sleep today and lots of gas could it be from that?

Gas breast feed: It certainly could be the reason  and  it should resolve after a day or two.

Difficult to say: Without having the names of the substances involved, it is hard to comment on their  potential for producing harm. Defects are related both to the agent and timing of exposure.Some have no particular effect, some can produce major defects.

hi im 34 weeks pregnant and i made a glass of water and drunk it but it had a funny taste i realised i put dettol washing machine cleaner in it , a few days before. will it harm my baby or make me sick ? i had one sip but now am worried?

Alanon is a 12-step organization designed for friends and loved ones of people with alcohol problems, and can help you deal with your concern, anger, guilt and other mixed emotions.
