It hurts!: Something called bubble bath urethritis -- tender inflammation of the sensitive lining where urine exits, caused by bubble bath or bath soaps w/ fragrances or other chemicals -- is a common cause. Ouch!  another possibility is a urinary tract infection, especially if other symptoms. A urine test can check for this. Utis are more common in boy babies. Many babies with utis don't cry when they pee.

May be: Crying in infants can mean a lot of things (hunger, cold, discomfort etch). It happening once with urination may not necessarily mean pain. Signs of a UTI in small children can include fever, blood in urine, bad smelling urine, pain with urine, holding urine. If you are concerned for a UTI a physician can check urine for signs of infection

Burning = maybe UTI: Skin lesions almost always need to have a visual inspection to get accurate diagnosis. Bumps in that area imply some type of infection.  A cut or skin split in the vagina-anal area, would likely come from some type of trauma or force.  In all likelihood you should have a examination by a family Dr or gynecologist. Burning when pee, often is an infection in the urine tract, but can be a sore.

It : It sounds like he may have a urinary tract infection. Urinary tract infections are rare in little boys, especially circumcised boys. He may have an infection on the outside of his penis. If you are noticing swelling on the outside of the penis or if he is uncircumcised and it is more difficult to retract the foreskin, he may be at risk of circulatory damage to the penis. Either way he should be seen by a doctor immediately to investigate the cause of pain.

baby (3 weeks) crying when she pushes to poop (only gas comes out). last dirty nappy was 5 days ago. what can i do/give her to ease her pain. im a first time mom so not sure if it's normal or should i be worried. normal pee nappies and she's eating.

Constipation: It is common to get constipated in the beginning with feedings, formula or breast feeding.
You can use a glycerin suppository getting it over the counter in the pharmacy.
Use 1 suppository after 3-4 d of pain, no stopping until better. You can also use gripe water OTC as well.

Leave the room: This is one step in the sleep technique developed by dr. Ferber.  You can train your baby to "self-soothe" by leaving and and progressively waiting longer between comforting your baby at bedtime.  You can start with 3 minutes and progress to 5, 7 and so on until your baby falls asleep. When returning, don't pick up your baby, just console him/her. It seems hard and even cruel, but it works.

Fluids, time: Do not panic. Babies are born with some extra fluid onot board to get them through until the milk comes in. Baby crying is actually very helpful to stimulate arts of the brain that regulate milk production,  so the crying is actually good in those first few days. She needs to rest, put baby to breast ofen and drink LOTS of fluids. That's it- very simple and easy. RELAX- the milk will come!

Mgt: She should be seen by your pediatrician. Provide breast feeds every two to three hours, check her temperature. She may need additional work up to ensure there is no infection. Does she have a cough or vomiting? Was she born full term?

Try simple fix: There are many causes of pain during sex.  Pain during entry can be caused by an infection, vestibulitis, abnormal muscle tone to the vagina, or inadequate lubrication.  Pain later on may be caused by inadequate arousal (which lubricates the vagina and causes lengthening of the vaginal cylinder).  Adequate foreplay, lubrication, and positioning may help.
