Maybe: The BCP is broken down by stomach acid and absorbed in the small intestine. If laxatives are causing an increased transport through the small &amp; large intestine then the BCP is not optimally absorbed. Take the BCP and wait at least one hour before using laxatives, which are not recommended for daily use.

can i take stool softeners while i'm taking a laxative and how long should i wait to take a second dose of the laxative?

Stool softeners: Occasional constipation can be managed at home with stool softeners, such as docusate and polyethylene glycol 3350.  A stimulant laxative, such as senna or bisacodyl, can be added if the stool softener alone is not effective, but should not be taken continuously without physician supervision.  If you only have a bowel movement after taking a stimulant laxative, you should see a doctor.

if i'm waiting to see if i'm pregnant, the two week wait, im bloated and constipated badly, if i took a laxative, would that stop implantation?

No, but...: No it won't, but if the laxative causes severe diarrhea, the dehydration  could interrupt the process of implantation. The uterus with a developing pregnancy needs a "quiet" room to conduct its' business, and that is very hard when there is an intestinal "party going on next door".

can laxatives, like nuez de la india interfiere with depo-provera provera (medroxyprogesterone)? i have gain so much weight with depo-provera i really need to loose some now, thanks

Laxative abuse: laxatives in general are a bad strategy for weight loss.  There are no studies on the efect on depoprovera.   Diet modification exercise reduction on carbs is probably a better strategy

how long should i wait before taking dulcolax ( laxatives 5mg )while on birth control ? how can i maintain the two, with reducing its affect?

OK together: Dulcolax and other laxitives do not interact with hormonal birth control (pill, skin insert, etc). You can use both at any time with no worries.

i had an appendectomy two days ago . i haven't had a poop since. i even took laxative hours ago and nothing . how long should i wait? is it normal?

Normal : It is a normal part of the healing process, and may go on for a week. As long as your not bloated, have nausea and vomiting, are passing flatus, and are able I stay well hydrated, its ok to wait. If these things are not all there, call your surgeon to discuss. Hope this helps!

i took an oral liquid stimulant laxative 15 hours ago. but it didnt work. can i now use a suppository or do i have to wait. it was a sodium picosulfate based laxative so i dont know if it has interactions with a biacodyl suppository?

: You may take the suppository.
For constipation - You may take a fiber laxative like Metamucil and drink enough water daily so that your urine is colorless. For the long term you may try to increase your intake of fiber foods. Consult this site for fiber foods.

pain around belly button 26hrs now and gradually getting worse, has spread to the right, down and through to my back. nauseas, no bm after laxative, tender to touch. should i wait it out or go to er?

Bellyache: Could be a warning sign of appendicitis you should get checked out.

i was constipated and tried several diffrent laxatives and 3 enemas, i was able to get some hard stool out with a glove, followed by some loose stool,?

You do not: give an age but I assume you are an adult with a chronic constipation issue. This is now being treated with SPECIFIC MEDICATION(S) and STRONGLY suggest you seek out this treatment from your Primary Healthcare Provider! In the meantime, INCREASE your FLUIDS (At LEAST  5 glasses of WATER/day!
