hands feet are always freezing! when i take a lukewarm shower my feet feel like they are on fire. left side is always colder than right side?

Cold feet: Your issues could represent something called Raynaud's phenomena or vascular diseasebbz. Generally with cold feet, signifies a vascular issue but could also be neurological. There are several tests that can check the vascular system as well as a neurological system and you can always get an MRI. I would see the closest neurologist, vascular specialist and/or podiatrist as soon as you can.

Neuropathy: Sounds like you may have some peripheral nerve damage.  You should tell your story to a local physician and be evaluated. There are many causes and it is not always easy to sort out. Should at least have diabetes screening.

everytime im cold and i start to get warm in blankets or warm water my feet feel like theyre on fire like cold hot burning. hypothyroidism does run in my family and i heard it can be a symptom, i am 17 yrs old though. i workout and eat enough?

: You may have an imbalance of hormone levels or autoantibodies . A virtual consultation with Healthtap may be useful to you and your PCP. Testing to consider include an autoimmune panel, thyroid panel and hormone levels. Vascular compromise is more frequent among older patients, but also should be considered. Avoid exposure to extreme cold weather. The burning sensation is also rel nerve damange.

went to er radiologist dx bowhunter syndrome and follow up with neurologist for more testing. im a nurse so im scared to work until i get the mri. today i have shooting electric in my feet like they are on fire. should i go back to er or what?

: Doubt it would worthwhile to visit ER, and unlikely you would be admitted to the hospital for your concerns.  Usually noted foot burning is associated with chronic peripheral neuropathy, but apparently,  there has been concern regarding nerves in the neck and shoulder.  Not feasible to pinpoint, but neurological intervention is indeed worthwhile.  If leg weakness or urinary issue, go to ER.

Leg/foot pain: Burning pain in the feet/legs can be a sign of poor vascular perfusion and should be evaluated by a vascular surgeon with some urgency. Other causes might be muscular, neurologic, or joint-related. Depending on other factors, a DVT could be possible as well. Best to have an examination.

Unlikely: It sounds more like a peripheral neuropathy. Fm is not a cause of these symptoms.

the bottoms of my feet often feel like they're on fire.  i don't have diabetes...am told it's a neuroma.  what can i do besides soaking in cold water?

Accepted Answer

Meds, surgery: You can consider a minor surgery to remove a neuroma. It would be a little more rare to have neuromas on both feet but this does happen. You could have neuropathy from a number of issues other than diabetes and you should discuss the multitude of things that can cause neuropathies with your doc. A nerve pain medicine like Gabapentin also may help. Try contrast baths instead of just cold.

my feet burn and it feels worse when i lay in bed to sleep at night. feels very uncomfortable like my feet are literally burning on fire. what could cause this problem?

Burning feet : This can be a fungal skin infection, nerve inflammation(disease)  or a nutrition deficiency

my feet burn all the time. i'm  drinking 5mg folic acid a day and it helps a little bit. i also tried replenimag but the pain persist. its like my lower legs and feet are on fire all the time.

Extremities burning: Heavy exercise regimens will cause muscle inflammation which may present as a burning sensation.  Take a day or two away from your usual workouts, elevate your feet when at home, and if the pain persists, see your physician for an exam and testing...type 2 diabetes can also cause symptoms such as described.
