i've noticed a few random bruises on my body lately! i do exercise 4-5x/wk and am in otherwise good health! any explanations? should i be concerned?

Usually normal: A few bruises can occur from exercise or accidentally bumping your arms or legs. If you take aspirin, advil or other nsaids, they can make you bruise more easily. In addition, vitamin e, fish oil, garlic, ginseng, ginkgo biloba, and alcohol such as in red wine can make you more prone to bruising. If bruises are presistent, you should see your doctor to check blood work including CBC and pt/ptt/inr.

i have what looks like a bruise on my leg but it doesnt hurt nor is it raised. and its been there for a good month to month and a half. any thoughts?

Bruise on my leg: Do you practice sports? were you involved in a trauma in a recent past? to which you did not paid attention?
Where is the injury, medial, lateral, anterior, posterior?
Upper or lower leg?. Does it hurt too walk?
Can you feel the foot pulses, one is anterior and the other behind the fibula at the ankle?
Have you seen a Dr? you need a clotting profile. to find out how you clotting mechanism works,
Leg bruises can occur as a result of trauma. Other causes of leg bruises include medications and medical conditions that impair blood clotting, as well as medical conditions that cause the skin to become thin or weaken blood vessels. A leg bruise can be the result of life-threatening or serious medical conditions and they are often associated with major complications that require immediate medical attention. These major complications include excessive swelling, a fever higher than 101°F, red streaking surrounding the bruise, or drainage from the bruise. In addition, symptoms of shock, such as clammy or pale skin, increased heart rate, pain in the chest, reduction in urine, blue colored lips and nail beds, dizziness and confusion, copious amounts of sweating, and loss of consciousness, may be warning signs that necessitate medical attention.

3 weeks ago a huge bottle of champagne probably a third of my body size fall onto my head from a club worker still hurts but not as bad as it did, never bruised visibly, but i have a clear dent you can feel in that spot. is it something to check?

: Would visit your doctor if you experience worsening headaches, dizziness, falling, blurred or doubled vision, nausea and/or vomiting, episodes of loss of consciousness, watery discharge from nose or ears, "brain fog".

hi i got body check two days ago on my right upper arm got a bruise  but i can't see it and it hurts sometimes. and thanks for helping me in gym class

Contusion: Bruise can occur deep in the muscle and not be visible in the skin (called muscle contusion).  It involves broken blood vessels and pain with the associated swelling and stretching of muscle fibers.  Numbness and weakness are warning signs to see a physician urgently.  Ice and message lead to quicker resolution.

hi docter, i have a problem with unexplained bruises on my body, i have noticed them for about 3 months now, but now i have a big blue mark at the left side of my knee cap its purple at hurts, and another recent one undr the knee.

See doc.: If these bruises are not @trauma, then you ought to see your gp or dermatologist to be evaluated for some type of systemic disease which might cause this condition, including a clotting problem and an autoimmune disease.  Suggest that you see a dermatologist or an internist to help dx the problem.

ankle sprain healed after a week. and i resprained it on the stairs, extreme pain and felt a popping feeling. no bruising but a good deal of swelling. hurts teribly in the mornings but is fine throughout day then goes back to feeling bad pain later?

: The benefit to rehabilitating an ankle injury properly is so you can protect yourself from reinjuring  the ankle again. Now I would see proper medical attention X-rays and proper rehab. See a MD, DO, podiatrist

: You need to have this evaluated so a diagnosis can be made. You may need to see a blood specialist-a hematologist-so that blood tests can be done. There are many possible etiologies for this and a hematologist will know the proper blood tests to order so that a diagnosis can be made and treatment rendered. Good luck to you!
