Many possibilities: The clogged sensation in the ears is usually a sign of eustachian tube dysfunction which could be from an irritant or allergies. Allergies can irritate your throat. Another possibility is reflux laryngitis. Acid from the stomach can actually cause nasal, sinus, and eustachian tube problems. Also, it can cause your throat to be irritated, sore, or feel like there is a lump in the throat. See an ent.

when i put vapour rub on my noses last night and i woken up it seem to have gone to the back of my throat and it feels as though i have swallowed abit will this make me ill?

: No. once it is degraded you will be fine. Pl dont use it on your nose  but elsewhere where can inhale the fume from a distance like the chest. You will be fine

Globus Sensation: The "lump in the throat" sensation is often caused by inflammation of one or more parts of the throat, such as the larynx or hypopharynx, due to cricopharyngeal spasm, gastroesophageal reflux (gerd) ;, laryngopharyngeal reflux. There can also be a "pouch" in your esophagus (zenker's diverticulum) which can "catch" swallowed food. Barium swallow to check anatomy. Ent or GI depends on location.

Many options: Could be caused by a bacteria like strep or by a common virus.  If you have fevers or it lasts more than a couple of days you should get it checked.

Reflux?: see a doctor and consider getting an endoscopy. Sometimes this can be a sign of chronic acid reflux.

Throat: You probably have post nasal drip which can be easily treated with some Flonase over the counter.  If it is associated with fever and chills, it could be an infection (viral or bacterial).  Take some Motrin or Tylenol for the pain and if it does not improve in the next few days see your pcp or an ent. Good luck and feel better

See your doctor: What you describe sounds like a throat infection, possibly strep or a virus. It's likely to last only a few days.  Go to your doctor to have it checked out. They can tell you what they think it is and whether you need medicine or not.  Over the counter throat numbing medicines (like cepacol spray or lozenges) and drinking cold liquids (not acid or carbonated) frequently, can make it less painful.

Sore : Sore throat is a fairly common symptom associated with many illnesses. Most of the time it resolves on its own without any other issues. Occasionally it can be due to something more serious that needs treatment. I'm not really sure what you mean by "developing a hole in your throat", but it sounds bad enough that you should have it looked at.  Other reasons to seek care are: 
- any fever - since it could be strep and you can't tell without an exam/testing 
- if it lasts longer than 3 or 4 days 
- any difficulty opening your mouth 
- unable to swallow 
- severe pain 
- bleeding in the throat 
- redness or swelling on the outside of the neck 
- any difficulty breathing or noisy breathing

in the meantime, taking Ibuprofen or Acetaminophen for pain, drinking plenty of fluids such as hot tea/broth or cold liquids and a spoonful of honey can help.
