Extrinsic asthma: This is a type of asthma where your lungs get "twitchy" or airways go into spasm when exposed to cold air. Some people will cough instead of wheezing. Many get the same symptoms of wheezing whenever they get a cold, or say that "when i get a cold it always goes into bronchitis." you should get a breathing test to make sure that your lung function is normal otherwise. Albuterol will stop the cough.

Bronchospasm...: Shortness of breath in these situations could be related to bronchospasm as well as airway inflammation. If possible, avoid these situations. If that isn't possible, or these symptoms become longer lasting, see your doctor for diagnosis and treatment. Treatment would likely include bronchodilator and steroid inhalers.

i have difficulty breathing through nose when sleeping with head turned to left. there's almost no air flow. breathing is normal when i turn to right.

Nasal obstuction: could have many causes like sinus conditions or allergy which are transient or polyps, or a deviated septum possibly on the right side. Lying on one side causes an increase in blood flow due to gravity so you end up with both sides blocked

Find out why: The symptoms you have may come from heart on lung and a simple xray will not give you a firm diagnosis. You may need investigations of your heart and lungs. At the very least treat the condition as serious and seek medical help.

: There are many possibilities for a cough with shortness of breath, the most common of which these days is Covid. However, you also could have other causes, such as influenza, asthma, pneumonia, or heart problems. If your oxygen saturation is low, or you are very short of breath, you should see your doctor or go to the emergency room ASAP. Good luck.

Respiratory distress: Increased respiratory rate, coughing, difficulty catching breath, chest pain and overall worsening in appearance are suggestive of respiratory distress.  Causes can include but are not limited to pneumonia, bronchitis, status asthmaticus, tuberculosis, etc.  This should be evaluated promptly by a primary care provider or in the emergency room.

Speculation: Obviously I can't tell you what's wrong based on such little information, but my speculation would be hyperventilation which can cause both symptoms and happens to people commonly.

Examination: You should examined. Bending down causes a sharp, rapid rise in intrathoracic pressure. Spontaneous pneumothorax is rare but can occur in young healthy people like you (16 yo). (= collapsed lung). The main symptom is sudden sharp pain followed by breathing difficulty.

Concerning sign here: Shortness of breath with laying flat and improves with more upright position is a concerning symptom of heart failure, medically called orthopnea. Often fluid in the lungs settle at bottom with sitting, but spread upward with laying flat thus causing shortness of breath. Extreme obesity can also do this as pressure in belly pushes things up causing troubled breathing, ..Consult doc..Good luck.

i love to sing. my voice is good. but i face trouble breathing while singing. tires me as if i have just climbed stairs. can't sing high notes.  help!

Mgt/workup: These symptoms may be due to a number of conditions including  asthma, being overweight/deconditioned, pulmonary/cardiac disease eg PAH.

I would recommend reviewing your symptoms with your PCP and a lung function test with and without a broncho dilator.
