if i have heart disease, should i be concerned if i experience tingling hands and feet during and after exercise?

Accepted Answer

Yes: That may be a sign of vascular insufficiency, arterial blockages, or coronary spasm.  You should have that evaluated by your physician.

new workout program abt 2wks. w/in a few hours after, have tremors in hands, uncontrollable, very pronounced twitching/restlessness in whole body. lasts until i take my ativan and (although i eat right after exercise). what could cause this?

Post workout: Are you eating prior to the workout too? Make sure you are not dropping your blood sugar too low. Also, are you taking any other medications or supplements that could be interfering with the blood sugar? Diet supplements or such? Has this happened to you before? I would try to get evaluated by an M.D. for some further testing. Good luck!

Varied symptoms: These varied symptoms may not be explainable by a disease but can be due,in part, to anxiety. Inner ear disorder, overactive thyroid and familial essential tremor also are possibilities. If you're short of breath at rest but not during physical activity, anxiety is very likely. Stress management therapy should be helpful in this regard. A checkup by your physician and consultation with neurology

i'm having difficulties with severe cramping in my legs, feet and hands after exercise despite drinking plenty of water and taking potassium. what next?

Go see your doctor: Make a hypothesis, act upon it, then measure results. Repeat. In other words, now it's time to measure your potassium & other minerals in your body. Also beware that taking quinolones such as your Levaquin (levofloxacin) is associated w/tendonitis/tendonopathy. So don't make sudden movements which might lead to tendon rupture. : This is not my area of expertise but like any fracture especially the wrist, the bones must heal close to their anatomical position. Any deviation can cause problems.   Need X-rays and physical therapy. If you have not seen a doctor for this injury please see a hand specialist

Natural response: During and after vigorous exercise, the heart works to pump blood to the more important parts of the body, like the brain and the muscles that are working.  To do that, the blood vessels in the extremities will tighten allowing blood to be shunted to the parts noted above, .

Constriction: Constriction of the superficial arterioles can be normal and serves to facilitate the body's temperature control.  Excessive constriction can occur; it's called Raynaud's phenomenon and is treatable with vasodilating medications.  See your Dr or see a cardiologist.

Needs evaluation: Cold clammy skin and dizziness are suspicious - something may be going on with your heart. Though they could represent anxiety or medication side effects, I recommend an evaluation by a cardiologist .

Immunity: Sounds like your immune system is low and you are run down.  Please see your doctor.  He/she can do lab tests and perhaps refer you to a nutritionist.  Are you getting enough sleep? Peace and good health.
