Not likely: The decongestant Pseudoephedrine plain or in combination with Claritin is designed for relieving nasal congestion.  The unwanted side effects of Pseudoephedrine are dry mouth, insomnia, irritability, GI upset, depressed appetite, etc.  If a person with adhd really needs adderall, then see your doctor to discuss it and receive proper diagnosis and treatment.

accidentally took 50mg adderall instead of sudafed for sinus infection. i am 28 weeks pregnant. will it show up in babys meconium/umbilical test if tested? this has been the only instance throughout whole pregnancy?

: Drug screening is not part of the usual newborn care unless the mother is on a watch list or the staff find a reason for suspicion. If I wanted to look for it in a newborn, I could find evidence for any drug exposure at that stage of pregnancy.

today i was told i could take sudafed and mucinex d together. took mucinex d 12 hour at noon and 2 sudafed every 4 hours. that's 240 mg of pseudoephedrine in like 12 hours. am i going to be ok? is this bad? just realized it has the same ingredient

No more Sudafed: Please do not take any more pseudoephedrine. 240mg is the maximum daily dose of this drug. If you have high blood pressure, this is a dangerous drug and should be avoided.  A fast, irregular, pounding heartbeat, mental or mood changes like anxiety, confusion, restlessness, shaking, difficulty urinating, as well as swelling, difficulty breathing, itching all need immediate evaluation.

Probably OK...: There are a lot of different preparations of Sudafed - some have a combination of medications (e.g. for colds, or cough, etc.) and even Sudafed itself was changed (now, usually has phenylephrine where it used to have pseudoephedrine as the primary ingredient).  Some of the combination ingredients could have interactions with Lexapro, so it's important to know what's in the Sudafed you want to take

Reflux: You can certainly take gaviscon and sudafed together, but if you are trying to treat heartburn there are other alternatives that should do better for you. First sudafed works well for nasal congestion and is not likely to give you much improvement in heat burn. Good heart burn medications include: Zantac, Tagamet, Prilosec and Nexium (esomeprazole).  You could also try TUMS, mylanta or other antacids.

Should be ok: no major interactions. Might affect your bp readings a bit. Your doctor may have you follow up to see how you tolerate the new meds and you can tell him if you have any issues.

Sudafed is a mild stimulant that acts as a decongestant and vasoconstrictor of blood vessels. Methadone works primarily by binding to opiate receptors in the brain. This reply is based on the assumption that sudafed is not transformed into an illicit drug by some buyers.
