Very likely: If one is sleeping well and has slept well in prior nights one should feel rested.  Disruptions in sleep architecture (rem disturbances) or snoring (sleep apnea) can cause one not to feel rested.  Other conditions may be at play including low thyroid, depression, etc.  Use of medications or alcohol can also cause persisting fatigue despite sleep. C your doc for futher eval and history review.

what can be reason of my mildly elevated metanephrines and normetanephrines. i have excessive daytime sleepiness, tiredness. all other labs normal. can sleep apnea cause such stress response to raise these levels?

So increase in epis: Yes it can.  As can otc cold meds that contain them. Discuss with your Dr.

You may need to see: Your doctor to check out your over all health. If you wake feeling tired - than perhaps the quality of sleep is lacking. Use good sleep hygiene. Retire ; rise same time each day. Keep bedroom dark ; cool ; use only for sex ; sleep. Turn off tv. No naps. Exercise regularly but not in late evening. No caffeine for 6 hrs ; no alcohol or tobacco w/i 2 hrs of sleep. Keep dinner moderate sized.

Many possibilities.: There are innumerable medical, nutritional and emotional conditions that include being tired as a symptom.  These range from simple issues to those far more complex.  A good checkup and blood testing would be a good starting point.

Fatigue: Fatigue can be due to many reasons and is often multifactorial. Things to consider are anemia (low iron), thyroid abnormalities, and any other chronic medical conditions. However, many people have fatigue due to poor sleep caused by sleep disorders, such as sleep apnea or restless legs syndrome. Lastly, it is important to take a look at stress levels as this can contribute to poor sleep as well.

see sleep specialist: I would recommend that see a sleep specialist to rule out sleep apnea that can leave you feeling tired all day. There are other sleep-elated conditions that can cause this as well a many other medical conditions. Your sleep doc will recommend an appropriate work-up.10% of children have sleep apnea. The data in adults are not yet known.

Depends: I don't know your age or overall health, but it seems you are basically healthy.  There are a few things you should consider.  One, is a test for your thyroid funciton.  A simple blood test could give you the answer.  Medications?  These can do the same.  Do you snore?  Sleep apnea can be insidious!  i would suggest a good check up, some labs and hopefully some reassurance and continue exercising.

what are good sleep meds that will help sleep? ones that don't make you tired during the day like 200mg seroquel (quetiapine)

Should be guided by: Diagnosis, however, in general my preference is to use trazodone 50 mg which i generally write as 1-3 at bedtime as tolerated. It is not addictive. The patient has to find the dose that works for them without making them feel hung over the next day. Men are warned about priapism, painful erections lasting more than 4 hours, and all patients are told to use a nightlight and to wear their glasses and to get up slowly the middle of the night if they need to get out of bed for any reason. My second choice is Restoril (temazepam) 30 mg at bedtime.

during last cold episode i was taking tylenol 500 mg at night for few days. i noticed getting very good night sleep.

is it ok to keep taking one tablet every night for long term?

No: In general, it is not ok to always need to take a chemical (a tablet, capsule, elixir, etc...) in order to get to sleep or get better sleep. That can be done temporarily, but should not be the case on an ongoing basis. However, some people's psychiatric or sleep disorders are severe enough (unfortunately) to require ongoing medication. That said, Tylenol used chronically can damage the liver.

i don't have any medical problem ,i take proper sleep ( good sleep- nobody can wake me up during my sleep) but still i feel tired and lazy all day without doing any hardcore work.i am a student and due to this not able to study properly. please help?

: It is presumptuous to say you have no medical problem when you can't function properly. You just don't know what it is. I suggest you write down your symptoms &amp; see your doc. Sleep apnea or other disorder that prevents adequate restorative sleep, or several other conditions may be present.
