what are the reasons for small streaks of light in my vision?

Floaters: Sounds as if you have had a posterior vitreous detachment.  This is a situation where the vitreous(jelly) of the eye detaches (not a retinal detachment), it then "crumples" up leaving dots, spots, strands of blurry vitreous; i.e. The "floater".  When it pills away, it causes flashes. You should have an exam to ensure the incident did not tear the retina, which could lead to a retinal detachment.

Depends: These are levels of vision that still indicate good and useful vision.  If you are used to 20/20 vision and you have a drops to 20/30 or 20/40 (uncorrectable) then it may seem bad to you.  In my state of washington, the break point for a driver's license is a vision level of 20/40, so the state does not consider this 'bad'.

Worsening vision: There are mutlipple reasons for blurry vision and an eye exam is needed to answer this question. It could be simply the need for glasses. Cataracts, macular degeneration and glaucoma are the most common medical causes. Please go see your eye M.D.

Dry eyes: This is mostly commonly due to dryness that leaves the natural oil layer of the eye's surface to predominate and blur your vision when you blink like an oil slick over water.  Try over the counter artificial tears 4-6 times a day.

Many causes: Dim vision can be caused by cataracts, retinal problems or optic nerve issues. The key detail needed to better answer the question is how often/ when does it occur. If it is frequent or continuous, you should see an eye doctor soon.

Migraine: You are probably experiencing occipital migraine.  You can confirm this by seeing if the same things occurs in each eye when you cover one and then the other.  These usually are short lasting (5 min to 2 hours) and cause no permanent changes.  If this test does not work as I have indicated, then see your ophthalmologist for a better diagnosis.

Hopefully 20/20: Are you asking what your vision would be if you were not wearing contact lenses or glasses?  You would be around 20/100 to 20/200 based on my experience.  This is assuming that you do see 20/20 with your -4.50 contact lenses.
