Probably not: Herpes on the lips are cold sores and the are sores that hurt not just white spots. Of you mean on your vagina it is possible but they can itch or hurt if herpes.  White spots flown there could be normal or not. Would need to see them to tell.

is there anyway of getting rid of white spots on lips (developing fordyce spots), does lotion help?

Accepted Answer

Unlikely: Fordyce granules are small deposits of lipid or fat in the tissue and occur usually in the cheek area of the mouth. I have seen them on the lips and typically they are small in size.I do not believe that any kind of lotion or lip balm will be of any help to remove them.

Time to be examined: I think this warrants a physical exam and a diagnosis to be made.   A dermatologist is most likely to feel comfortable making the diagnosis.

Not sure either but: Go to dentist and if he is worried by them he will send you to an oral surgeon to remove them and do a biopsy. And stop smoking! It's terrible for your health! There are many stop smoking aids and programs.

?white spots: White spots on the lips can be several different things.  A baby can develop thrush in the mouth which looks like white patches that are located on the inner lips, inner cheek, roof of the mouth, or on the tongue.  It often is painful for the baby to feed and if nursing the infection can transfer to the breast.  You should schedule a visit with your baby's doctor to have this evaluated.

You : You may be suffering from a type of skin condition called vitiligo. Other autoimmune dosorders can cause this and need to be ruled out as well i.e. Lupus). I recommend you visit your primary care provider or directly visit a dermatologist for an evaluation. In the meantime use a lip protector with sun screen in it.
