More history: If recent, maybe trauma? Could also be a pigmented lesion, ranging from a benign mole to a melanoma! so, need more history; how long there, trauma?

Psoriasis, melanoma : Hormones, medications and dye can give brown color spots on nails, usually multiple nails are involved. Round brown spot if pitted can be sign of psoriasis. Melanoma of skin can also cause similar symptoms especially if it is enlarging. Please see a dermatologist soon. I hope it helps.

Please use an: ice pack for 10 minutes 3x a day.  Rinse with soap and water  3x aday.  If not allergic,    a dose of Ibuprofen might help with the pain.

i accidentally hurt my gum with my nail....now its a white spot and burning me...what could i do?

Call your dentist: You may have inadvertently cut your gum with your nail, and seeing that mark. Your dentist can best advise you since s/he knows your medical and dental history. They can also advise you what to use/rinse to help relieve the burning sensation.  Saline gargles often help, and if a salve is needed, they would have to prescribe it, while it's healing, and can tell you what to take for gum pain.

at the nail shop, i notice a small greenish spot under my big toenail. () weeks later it got a tad bigger () no pain.  what could this be?

A number of things: The toe nail is tightly adhered to the nail bed most of the time, but slight separations can allow bacteria and fungus to reside there.   This is usually not a major issue, depending upon your symptoms.   A bacteria known as Psuedomonas Aeruginosa has such a pigment and can show up in a number of places, even a bar of soap. If symptoms presents, simple treatment includes Antibioics and topicals.

Eczema/fungal: It could be an inflammatory skin condition or a fungal infection of the skin. Either condition can be non itchy. Topical medication can be prescribed
