: White or light discoloration of skin can be caused by trauma, fungal infection or dryness. It should resolve within a few weeks. See your Dr if it does not resolve in this time period. Cancer of the skin is typically darker and forms a raised mass. Cancer of the breast is usually felt as lumps and does not present as white/light patches.

when i exercise pretty intensely i get a red face with pale patches on both sides of my cheeks and around my mouth/nose and some eye. whenever i get really tan i tend to get whiter pigmentation patches on my cheeks, besides im mixed, is it vitiligo?

Many options: Topical bleaching creams such as hydroquinone, kojic acid, manganese, licorice extract, retinoids, glycolic acid, lactic acid, urea. Also procedures such as ktp and nd:yag lasers, ipl (intense pulsed light), microdermabrasion, fractional resurfacing, chemical acid peels can all help.

Melasma: It sounds like you are describing a condition called melasma - also known as mask of pregnancy - if you are on the pill that can cause it.

Melasma can also be associated with some systemic conditions - so i would recommend being checked by your physician.

Make sure you use sunscreen all the time over time if the pigmentation is caused by hormones it will fade but sun will exacerbate it.
