Not HIV: This is probably a minor injury that has become an aphthous ulcer, especially if it's sore. HIV doesn't do this.

Cut on gums: It should heal on its own. You can rinse alternately with warm salt water (1/2 teaspoon salt in glass of water) and diluted (1:1 with water) 3% hydrogen peroxide.

Gentle: Continue proper home care, brushing and flossing carefully.  Salt rinses can also help.  Stay away from harsh mouth rinses for at least a week.  If it is not severe, it will typically heal on its own.

Anything sharp edge!: Anything will cut your gums... Gums are very gentle tissue, especially if gums are inflamed. So, pretty much anything like fish bone, even bread, popcorn....may leave a cut on your gums. The best thing to do- visit your dentist!

Very easily. : Other than ur regular home care and brush/floss.. U should rinse with warm  salt water( one tea spoon in 4 ounces of water).  And also some antibacterial  rinse such as listerine. Try avoiding any hot/ spicy food. It is not a big deal.. No worries,  if it is a superficial cut.

More info needed..: Gingival hyperplasia can be caused by certain medications or inflammation from periodontal problems. You should see a local dentist to be diagnosed. There is nothing you can personally do to "cut them back". Please call for an appointment.

Gums: Barring side effects from certain drugs generally they swell from lack of proper cleaning. Brushing all areas and flossing thoroughly everyday will help however you need to see your dentist for a professional cleaning above and below the gumline to get the gums healthy.

See dentist: The swelling and pain needs to entreated.  This may be an infection or something embedded  in your tissue from the trauma.  Get this checked asap.
