Body lice treatment: Body lice mainly live in clothing. Destroy or carefully wash infected clothing in hot water (at least 130 degrees f), then machine dry using a hot cycle. You may need a prescription cream or wash containing permethrin, malathione, or benzyl alcohol. Contact: Scabies can be transmitted from person to person through direct contact, or through shared bedding, towels, and clothing of an infested person. Body lice are transmitted in a similar way but are very uncommon except in the homeless population. Unlike scabies which burrow under the skin causing an intense itching and inflammatory rash, lice live on the skin and in the clothes of the infested person.

Vinegar may help: Vinegar has been cited as a natural rx for head lice when applied to dry hair & massaged through it daily for a week. It does loosen the nits (egg casings) which should be combed out to prevent re-infection. Pickling vinegar or apple cider vinegar may work a bit faster than regular & you can always fall back on the otc products if this fails.

Germophobia: This is the same question as your others, this time about lice. Like warts, only by intimate contact with another person, not through clothing or contamined environment. Abnormal fear of contagion (germophobia) can be an early sign of serious mental health disability (see &quot;The Aviator&quot;, the biopic of Howard Hughes, for a good example). You might benefit from professional counseling about this.

No evidence: Tea tree oil has been used to treat acne, toe nail fungus, fungal infections on the feet, and dandruff with some effectiveness, but does seem to have some hormonal effects (therefore should not be used by pregnant women).  However, i know of no evidence of tea tree oil treating scabies, body lice, or bo.  I am open to anyone who has additional information.
