No: In order for you to gain any significant weight you need to over eat for a long period of time.  For most people it takes several months or years.  It is almost impossible to gain any appreciable amount of weight in one day.  Even eating contest winners can't do that.

Possibly: If you are concerned about weight gain then focus on the long haul and do not obsess about the every day fluctuation.  You may find that weight loss is more about the destination than the journey!

No: It takes about 3500 calories to gain one pound. That's a lot. The key to weight control is consistency. One occassional "cheat day" shouldn't make a difference. On the other hand, if a person is gaining water weight by retaining fluid, that can be the sign of a more serious condition with the heart or the kidneys and should be evaluated by the appropriate medical specialist.

Unable to say: This is difficult to say.  It depends on your level of activity that day, the number of calories consumed and your body's own rate of metabolism. In general, however, the answer is usually yes, with one pound gained for each 3, 000 calories consumed. Much of the weight seen after a day of heavy eating is from salt and fluid retention which tends to come off in subsequent days. Best wishes to you.

Depends: It depends on many factors besides the type of food you eat, how much calories you take in, your activity level to burn it off, daily exercise regimen, and stress levels. What's important to take into account is your past family, social, surgical, sexual, supplements/meds, and Gyne histories. You can be in danger if already obese or have heart disease now. So see your doctor for the best advice.

Weight: Try to maintain a plant based diet similar to the mediterranean diet and increase your exercise to at least 40 minutes 4 to 6 times a week, make sure you are breathy during the workout. Add a weight resistance work out three times a week, do sets to fatigue muscle groups. If this does not improve weight loss consult an exercise physiologist. My best.

What is BMI: More important than just her weight is her bmi, which also takes into account her sex and height based on her age. Quite honestly, a weight of 50# does not seem ecessive to me, but i would have to know her height as well. She is likely starting her pubertal growth spurt, and the weight gain may be totally appropriate.  There are several good sites online to check bmi's for kids - check that first!

Be seen: It sounds like maybe gastritis or an ulcer.  Be seen for a diagnosis.

Why?: Why do you want to increase your weight.  A bmi of 19.5 is healthy.  Once you start consuming more, even healthy foods, and gain weight, you may end up weighing more than you may have bargained for.  Eat a well balanced diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits and low in meats.
